Our Client is a global producer of sustainable stainless steel, whose main target is to reduce carbon footprint 10,000,000 tonnes annually. We are seeking for dynamic and hands-on Senior Application Developer, who will be a key player in the development of production applications such as MES.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and development of application in her/his own area
- Contribute to lifecycle of software applications, from selection and implementation to maintenance and eventual retirement
- Contribute the application upgrade process, including testing, versioning, deployment and validation to maintain optimal performance
- Provide support to end-users (incl. OnCall Service), addressing queries, resolving issues, and ensuring the effective use of applications
- Maintain tickets in Outokumpu ITSM tool with good quality
- Customize and configure applications to meet specific manufacturing needs, working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Apply development best practices, approved standard methods and ways of working
- Be self-checking to ensure high quality is achieved and maintained in all areas of daily work, e.g. that documentation/source code is kept up-to-date
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate applications with existing systems, ensuring data flow and process integration
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, including user guides, configuration details, and troubleshooting procedures
- Ensure that applications comply with IT security policies and industry regulations, implementing measures to protect sensitive data
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization of application functionality in alignment with manufacturing goals
Key Requirements:
- B.Sc. in IS/IT or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Application Development Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and related satellite systems
- At least excellent skills on most common development and programming languages (e.g. Java, Java Script, Python, C/C++, .Net, Oracle Forms) & R&D tools (e.g. git)
- - At least intermediate skills on Server Operating Systems and Databases (e..g. Oracle, MySQL)
- - At least intermediate skills on Cloud Technologies
- Ideally Knowledge about steel manufacturing business
- Ideally Knowledge about steel manufacturing business
- Good co-operation and communication skills in English language, spoken and written
